Monticello-Big Lake Community Hospital District is a community-owned, integrated health care delivery system. The Hospital District includes the cities of Monticello, Big Lake and Otsego and the townships of Becker, Big Lake, Monticello and Silver Creek. Established in 1965, the Hospital District is governed by an eight-member, community-elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the hospital's Board Room. Monthly board meetings are open to the public.

Jim Agosto Mr. Agosto represents the City of Otsego and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1999. He believes that serving on the board is one way he can give back for the care his family members have received as patients at the hospital. He says he enjoys working on the board and preparing for the future of health care in our community. Mr. Agosto is the Chair of the board's Quality/Professional Affairs committee. He practices law from his Monticello office and likes to play racquetball and read in his spare time.

Bob Dawson Mr. Dawson, a representative of Becker Township, has been a board member since 1995. Mr. Dawson says he enjoys being of service to his community and likes working with fellow board members. He is a member of the board's Finance committee. Mr. Dawson retired from his management career but continues to work part-time for a local funeral home. Bob and his wife Lynn enjoy spending time at home and being with their children and grandchildren. |

Linda Doerr Ms. Doerr is Member-At-Large and represents citizens from each of the District's cities and townships. Ms. Doerr is the Vice Chair and was first elected to the board in 1981. As a member of the board, Ms. Doerr says it's rewarding to know she is doing something that matters by helping to provide an important service to members of our communities. Ms. Doerr is a member of the board's Quality/Professional Affairs committee. She is a health care executive and enjoys boating and camping in her free time. |

Bruce Hamond Mr. Hamond is Board Chair and representative of the City of Monticello for Monticello-Big Lake Hospital’s Board of Directors. He was first elected in 1997. Mr. Hamond serves on the board because he enjoys the opportunity to make a difference in local health care services and likes interacting with board members, physicians and administration. He is a member of the board's Finance committee. Mr. Hamond and his wife Cindy have five children and 12 grandchildren. |

Richard Helms Mr. Helms represents Big Lake Township and was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2004. He sees himself as a change-maker and says he enjoys the opportunity to help shape the future of the Hospital District. He is a member of the board's Finance committee. Mr. Helms is semi-retired and works part-time as an engineer for a medical device company. He is a John Deere memorabilia collector and likes to spend his free time with his wife visiting hometown festivals and parades. |

Marvin Rydberg Mr. Rydberg has been a member of the District's board since 1997. As a representative for the City of Big Lake, Mr. Rydberg is looking forward to the 2007 opening of the Big Lake Clinic. He likes interacting with fellow board members and management and enjoys lending a hand when there's work to be done. He is the Board Secretary and a member of the board's Quality/Professional Affairs committee. Mr. Rydberg has four grown children and has been married to his wife Bette for more than 50 years.

Doug Schneider Mr. Schneider was elected to the Board of Directors in 2004 to represent Silver Creek Township. He became a member of the board because he wanted to give something back to his community. Mr. Schneider enjoys participating in the board's discussions and planning for the future. He is Chair of the board's Finance committee. Mr. Schneider is self employed and has a background in accounting and business administration. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and farming. |

Jeff Young Mr. Young was elected to the Board of Directors in 2007 to represent the citizens of Monticello Township. Mr. Young enjoys working with local community leaders and supporting communication between the District and its community members. He is a member of the board's Quality/Professional Affairs committee. Mr. Young is a third-generation Monticello Township resident and is an account executive for an electromechanical company. |
